Barrister Sports & Entertainment is a full service management and marketing firm serving both professional athletes and entertainers. We handle all aspects of managing and guiding our clients' careers including but not limited to: pre-draft & combine preparation, contract negotiations, endorsements, legal counsel, tax & estate planning, financial investment planning and post career job assistance.

At Barrister, we recognize that our clients have diverse personal and professional needs. Our services are adapted to meet those needs so our clients can concentrate on their profession. Our principal aim is not to make decisions for our clients, but rather to provide our clients with the information and options to assist them in making decisions that are best for themselves and their families.

 Biographies:

Eugene Akers is Barrister's managing member, resident in its Washington DC office and is a member of the New York State and District of Columbia Bars. Eugene concentrates his practice in contract negotiations and intellectual property. Eugene grew up in Anchorage, Alaska where he graduated from West Anchorage High School. He is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and the Howard University School of Law. Eugene is a member of the America Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the Sports Lawyers Association and the Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association.
Steven Marsh is resident in Barrister's Washington DC office, is a member of the New York State Bar and in 2001 passed the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Patent Bar exam. Steve grew up in Saginaw, Michigan where he graduated from Bridgeport High School. Steve holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from North Carolina A&T State University and too a graduate of the Howard University School of Law. Steve is an NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor, a member of the America Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the Sports Lawyers Association and the Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association.
Terry Burston is a founding member and advisor for Barrister out of Atlanta, Georgia and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia. Terry concentrates his practice in all aspects of infrastructure finance and business development and expansion transactions. Terry grew up in suburban Atlanta where he graduated from Lassiter High School. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Howard University School of Law. Terry is a member of the American Bar Association, the National Bar Association, and the Atlanta Bar Association corporate counsel and business law sections.
